GENERAL INFORMATION, PARTS, REPAIR/TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom:
Differential is losing oil.

Possible Cause:
Loose bolts on drive unit case lid.
Remedy:
Tighten bolts to proper torque.

Possible Cause:
Loose bolts on outboard reduction housings.
Remedy:
Tighten bolts to proper torque.

Possible Cause:
Drive unit breather port is leaking.
Remedy:
Check weld around port for cracks or separations. Check inside of drive unit lid to make sure crimped end of breather port is open approximately 1/8 inch.

Possible Cause:
Drive axle seal is leaking.
Remedy:
Replace seal.

Possible Cause:
Pinion seal is leaking.
Remedy:
Replace seal.

Possible Cause:
Cracked or broken reduction housing, axle housing or drive unit case.
Remedy:
Inspect and repair or replace as needed.
